Hardworking hippies are challenging Venice's “Free Speech Protection” ordinance reports commentator BarbaraPeck at LA Voice.org.

A reliable source has revealed that on January 16, 2007, Matt Dowd ("Pacific Breeze Incense") and Michael Hunt ("Shea Butter Man") stood before Judge Pregerson in reference to their lawsuit filed in 2006, challenging the Citys denial of their right to sell their 'so-called' First Amendment products (incense and shea butter) on Venice Boardwalk. On behalf of Venice Food Not Bombs, Carol Sobels is also suing the city on Boardwalk-related issues, reports the poster, but no there's word yet on the outcome of any of these meetings.
