Among the many things on our list to do between now and the date of our reservation at Mozza in 2008, is a visit to the Lava Lounge on La Brea. But time is not on our side as we learn that the tiki-themed bar will close at the end of February to make way for another authentic Hollywood lounge. Counting the Tuscan remodel of the Aku Aku Motel in Woodland Hills and the imminent tear down of Trader Vic's in Beverly Hills, we're fearful that our faux-Polynesian heritage will be lost in the coming years. Should we start printing our "Save the Tiki-Ti" t-shirts now before it's too late?
