We may like to pretend otherwise for “hand-crafted products,” but robots build our cars, clothes, and furniture. Now they will be building houses too. USC professor Behrokh Khoshnevis designed a home-building robot that will build the first robot-constructed home in the world here in L.A. And this robot will build with flair: domes and curves will be as easy as a straight wall. Prof. Khoshnevis claims that Johnny-Five Home Edition will be able to build the shell of a house in 24 hours, thereby saving a lot in construction costs. Now, as soon as we can find some land up in here, maybe this can help on that whole L.A. housing shortage front.
