May we be the first to welcome the Beckhams to LA. As we've been reporting forever, despite the derisions of our soccer loving friends, the Beckhams are coming to LA and now its official. Hello Tesco! Hello Beckhams! May we all welcome our new British friends. Via ABC News:
"I've played now for two of the biggest clubs in the world. I've played at the highest level for 15 years, and now I think I need another challenge," Beckham said. The announcement has the sports world buzzing.
"David Beckham coming to the United States is ? [like] Tiger Woods meeting Brad Pitt on the red carpet," said USA Today sports columnist Christine Brennan. "This transcends sports. This is a big, big deal."
Not only is the sports world buzzing. The real estate world, namely people like us, are wondering where the Beckhams will end up. Which Hollywood Hills home will they take? Will it be near Scientologist friends, TomKat? We shall all know soon.
UPDATE: Upon leaving Real Madrid on June 1, Reuters reports Beckham will sign a 5-year deal with the LA Galaxy. No $$$ amount given
