Gallery Row Grows

An interesting fire sale, so to speak, in Downtown LA. View from a Loft reports that the old theater across the street from the M.J.Higgins Gallery is selling off pieces of its interior as the building is gutted and renovated to make way for a new gallery. You can apparently get some deals on light fixtures and old furniture. We're trying to picture what this building looks like but we're having a hard time. The Linda Lea Theater is where the homeless encampment is, and there's a dive bar further north so the space must be somewhere in between. We still haven't heard when M.J. Higgins is scheduled to get the bulldoze treatment to make way for a new police garage. Any enlightened downtowners care to share?
