We take it all back. Councilman Bill Rosendahl isn't all "nos". The Councilman (CD11) has taken up the plight of the Boom Boom Room in Laguna Beach. The oldest operating gay bar in the US is on its last legs, as you might recall, under threat of being demo'd to make way for some crap shack boutique hotel. Rosendahl spoke to the Bay Area Reporter about the need to preserve the tiny slice of gay heaven in Laguna.
"I have been going to Laguna Beach since 1981," stated Rosendahl. "I want to continue to come back to the Laguna I know and love just as I have been doing for the past 25 years. This club and hotel are an integral part of the community and they should be there for future generations," he said. He added that he hoped Laguna Beach officials would support the effort to save the club.
Rosendahl is a co-chair on the Save the Boom!!! committee. Concerned citizens are welcome to sign the Save the Boom!!! petition on the groups web site.
