Lincoln Place Negotiation Ends in...Stalemate

The debate over the future of Lincoln Place apartments between tenants and the owner is one step closer to getting a lot uglier. As the Venice Paper reports, two large questions remain: the fate of 50 elderly and disabled tenants and what exactly the future of development on that site will look like. With the recent approvalof the site by the State Historical Resources Commission to include the buildingon a list of protected sites preservationists are now also stepping up their involvement. Now that there's deadlock, all parties are free to engage in a balls-out, no holds barred, cage match. And there is nothing we love more than seeing the fallout when a real estate developer spends a decade trying to evict elderly, disabled middle and low-income tenants.
