Cornfields Park Design Open to Competition

Despite the best efforts of the Norman Lear Center and the LA Times, its still unclear if Eli Broad's biggest development baby, The Grand Ave Committee, will open up the design of the proposed Grand Ave park to a public competition.

Broad and Co. might want to take note of this announcement from the State Parks Foundation for park proposals for the Cornfields downtown. The corn has been harvested, artist Lauren Bon's vanity project Not a Cornfield closes March 31st, and the Annenberg Foundation has put up the money for a public design competition. However, if you're thinking of entering, better act fast. Submissions are due by April 17th.
