Dude, New Digs in Venice

The L.A. Planning Commission recommended yesterday the approval of a new 201 unit development in Venice. The proposed 15-building project will include retail, townhouses with access from the street, and controlled access apartments to keep all of the dirty hippies out. The parcel is currently an MTA bus parking lot bounded by Sunset Ave., Thornton Pl., Pacific Ave., and Main Street. And what else would a developer call a project in Venice in order to be as trite as possible? RAD Sunset, of course.
· RAD Sunset Development - Planning Staff Says Approve (with Conditions) in Draft of Document [Venice Paper]
Update: Planning commission STAFF recommended conditioned approval for the project, not the Planning Commission itself. That Commission will meet on the subject on March 9.
