Sorry, dear readers, for the late postings today. It has been one of those days… Anyway, a reader alerts us to what may be an “adaptive reuse disaster” (his words, not ours). The Desmond’s Tower on Wilshire in Miracle Mile is supposedly getting some Miami-style condos just behind it as part of an adaptive reuse of the building. We recognize that the Miami style of Art Deco should fit with that of Miracle Mile, but this is a bit of overkill. Reader was unable to confirm, however, that this rendering is what’s actually going up. Please say it isn’t so.
