Saturday night was the big Elrod House cocktail reception for the Dwell on Design event. It's Sunday afternoon and we're still recovering from all the free wine, mojitos and appletinis. The Elrod House was designed by famed architect John Lautner for interior designer Arthur Elrod. It was famously featured in the James Bond movie "Diamonds are Forever", where 007 was kicked and flipped by Bambi and Thumper. The home can be rented for $10,000 for a weekend, we heard. We had the great fortune to bump into Doug and Rochelle Kramer of SoCalModern and "Doug Kramer's Rancho Style" who were really cool and were willing to listen to us ramble on and on about Cliff May homes. We also ran into an architect from the Palm Springs area, one from Austria, and some other bloggers from around the country. Everyone had a great time. Kudos to Dwell for leaving us hungover today.
