Eastside supermarket drama is back. A while ago we reported on the conversion of the Albertson’s in Highland Park into a Superior Super Warehouse. Well, it just opened as the Superior Warehouse Grocer. One reader braved the hordes of hungry shoppers to check out the new digs and snap some pics:
I went in today. The parking lot was INSANE, I guess the 7 avocados for a $1 promotion brought out the masses. As a whole, prices are not that impressive and the wine selection sucks, but it's great to have a supermarket back on this side of Mt. Washington.And why wouldn't a supermarket with neon-lined aisles be a madhouse? Apparently there was a live band too. Wow. The last time we went to the supermarket all we got was an indignant checker.
