Yesterdays excitement of going to the polls and making decisions on important issues is over. Now its time to see what democracy has wrought. A few of the key races we were following to some degree are below:
· Measure H, the billion dollar affordable housing bond, has fallen short of achieving the 2/3 majority required to pass. Sorry poor, homeless and Garcetti. Maybe next time. But Measure R passed or will pass, which means eight more years of Tom Labonge calendars. [LA Times]
· Measure A, the retarded attempt by some in Pasadena to lure the NFL to the Rose Bowl, was squashed as we had hoped. [NBC4]
· Measures N & P, designed to deter Rick Caruso from building his new lifestyle mall in Arcadia, seem to have passed narrowly. Score one for Westfield. [Star-News]
