Apparently some “election” is dominating the news today, so we had to search far and wide for stories. That brought us all the way to Orange County, where sort of non-boring stuff sometimes happens. In Seal Beach, a great new shopping center called The Shops at Rossmore broke ground and plans to open next summer. Exciting new tenants so far include: Mel’s Drive-In and, well, that’s it. A remarkable new shopping center indeed!
Up the road in Anaheim, some proposed Disneyland-adjacent housing is causing Donald’s feathers to get all ruffled. Developer SunCal Cos. has proposed 1,300 condominiums and 200 affordable apartments for an area next to California Adventure. The point of contention, of course, is that the underpaid Disneyland employees may live next to Disneyland in the affordable apartments, and that just won’t do. The Magic Kingdom does not include poor people. Disneyland isn’t saying that, though. They’re “concerned” that the noise of the park will disrupt the new residents. Uh-huh.
That's about it for the OC.
