We often read real estate listings and are confounded by the lexicon of the realtor. What, exactly, does “charming” mean? Is “quaint” something that we should be looking for in a house? When you say “maintenance” does that mean that the house is on the verge of collapse? A reader alerted us to a website that may be able to decode the bullshit lingo of your realtor. While we weren’t able to find definitions for terms like “fixer,” we did learn that “panic selling” does not mean that the seller is facing foreclosure. So take a look, and the next time you talk to a realtor, tell her that you’ve wised up to her secret language.
