The very contentious Montage Hotel project in Beverly Hills is now underway. After opponents (mainly other hotels in the area) were squelched in August and residents voted to move forward with its completion (and subsidize the project), the project aims for completion by fall of 2008. Located just north of Wilshire, between Beverly Dr. and Canon Dr., the Montage will combine everything luxury: luxury hotel, luxury condos, luxury spa, luxury offices, luxury restaurant, luxury underground parking to be shared with the City, and a luxury public garden. Though at a whopping 33 square feet, we’re not so sure how luxurious this garden really will be.
