Leave the Junk in Your Trunk on De Butts Terrace

You may remember our posts on the unfortunate, yet crudely hilarious, name of one West Hollywood street: Dicks Street. Though it lacked the same irony as the West Hollywood street, one street in Malibu suffered a similar misfortune when it acquired its name. A road near Escondido Canyon used to be called De Butts Terrace. After residents complained about ridicule, the Malibu City Council changed its name to the extraordinarily banal Murphy Way, justifying the change as honoring film director Dudley Murphy. We're guessing Cher was behind it.
