Our fifth or sixth in a continuing series of our non-biased reviews of anti-development web sites which dot the Southern California internets. This week... PASADENA FIRST.
Those sneaky bastards at the NFL are trying to gain control of the Rose Bowl and surrounding parklands for 55 years through a ballot measure this fall. Pasadena First p.a.c. has organized to defeat Measure A. First of all, we're surprised Pasadena still finds itself in the running to host an NFL team. Almost every week we have someone telling us that Frank McCourt has a secret plan for the NFL to come to Chavez Ravine. And Anaheim and the Coliseum still remain the frontrunners, so it seems Pasadena is just spinning its wheels. But whatever, it's their money to waste.
What is it About: No on Measure A and No on the NFL coming to Pasadena
Villains: Billionaire NFL Owners, Pasadena City Councilmembers Holden, Little and Streator
Buzzwords: fine print, "Traffic! Traffic! Traffic!"

Site Design: There's a lot of information on this site and plenty of interactivity to tell you how to get involved. The picture files are way too big and take forever to download on our connection. However, other than images of people using the parks, the site relies on text and text links which is nice. Black and red Times font on a white background also keeps the message from being cluttered up. The use of links to outside sources of info is very helpful. If we were going to design a site about keeping the NFL out of our neighborhood, it might look like this, but with more pictures of Raiders fans.
Our Judgement (on the scale of 1 to 5 NIMBYs, 5 being the best): 4.00 NIMBYs
