The latest issue of Polar Inertia puts together a few snaps of Los Angeles house numbers to find some greater meaning in how our lives our governed by the digits near our front doors.
This photograpahic series documents the ubiquitous Los Angeles apartment building and their often ornate address markings. "They are just addresses," I keep telling myself. There is no hidden meaning. 303, 1425, 844, 912... these are directions, guideposts, nothing more. But I can't convince myself. This number and that color come together and taunt me with suggestion, encryption and mystery. Thus, the skeptic succumbs to numerology. We feel fully cultured after having viewed this.
