Blogdowntown provides details on the filming of The Fast and the Furious 3 on the little piece of Wilshire Boulevard that makes it into Downtown LA. They've dressed it up with some Japanese elements to simulate Tokyo.
The first question we asked is why would Fast and the Furious 3 be set in Japan. The second question we asked is why in God's name are they making a third Fast and the Furious movie? So we checked the IMDB and had at least one of our questions answered.
To avoid jail time, street racer Shaun Boswell is sent to live with his father in Tokyo. There he discovers drift racing. After losing a race to Yakuza-connected D.K., the Drift King, Shaun has to enter the Tokyo underworld to find a way to pay his debt. That sounds like our life story.
