No need to panic, according to KABC-7 (the television broadcast, not the web site), who say that the funky smell wafting through the air in Culver City is the result of some recent oil drilling. Is anybody smelling it and can you describe it? We're curious.
The smell also appears to be unrelated to previous smells noted by LA Observed and the infamous maple syrup smell in Manhattan.
UPDATE: Two readers have emailed with details of the smell. It ranges between "diesely" to "natural gas." Ladies and gentlemen, that is the smell of progress.
