Orange Line Gets Testy

The Orange Line, the first of its kind (in California) dedicated busway across the Valley, began test runs Sunday to ensure it works out the kinks before it starts carrying real, litigious people.

As of yesterday, Metro has begun conducting test runs on the new busway, sending huge Metro Liner busses up and down the converted rail corridor to make sure the behemoths actually work, and that the Line itself functions as designed. Folks who decide to run, bike, or linger on the right-of-way face fines and possible jail time if you're caught by patrolling bus police. Kids are also warned not to drag race on the bus way. If neighbors hear revving engines they are urged to call the police. Really!
