Las Vegas is taking away tourist dollars and entertainment options from Los Angeles, reports Gridskipper. The pale midwesterners and Asian tourists who use to swarm our city are now heading to Vegas where they're throwing their disposable cash into slot machines.

West Hollywood's Argyle Hotel has changed its name back to the Sunset Towers Hotel. HotelChatter reports that this is all part of hotelier Jeff Klein's "plan to bring 'elegance' back to West Hollywood." Yes!

The City Council unanimously approved a one-year pilot program to provide shuttles Thursday through Saturday to clubgoers in Hollywood. The shuttles will pick up passengers at Hollywood clubs and drop them off at two Metro Red Line stations - Hollywood & Vine and Hollywood & Highland. Fare will be $1 per person.

Builing up and not out may be the solution to the Valley's housing shortage. With that new Orange Line thingy, a world of possibilities is opening up to the Valley. Those half-empty parking lots next to Orange Line stations may one day be the site of some dense, multi-story housing. Unless the NIMBYs stop it.
