CRA Taps CIM for Office Building in Hollywood

The Community Redevelopment Agency has entered into an exclusive negotiation agreement with the CIM Group to construct the first office building in Hollywood in 30 years, according to city documents. The new office building is planned for the site across from Hollywood High in the 6800-6900 block of Hawthorn Avenue. The project will provide 250,000 s.f. of new office space on the site and will attempt to preserve the historic building facades of affected properties on Hollywood Boulevard, while displacing some of those tacky souvenir shops, a pizza parlor and a hostel with 95,000 s.f. of new retail. The block also contains the El Capitan Theater (home to "The Jimmy Kimmel Show", which we've never seen, a 13-story office building and several parking lots (see above). No date has been set for construction to begin.
