The City Council voted yesterday to waive location fees for pilots and TV shows filming their first season in Los Angeles, in a bid to keep more TV production from leaving town. "[City Councilmember Eric] Garcetti noted that in 2006-07, Los Angeles was the home of 60 percent of all TV pilot production. That figure had dropped to 29 percent last year." Last year the city made $231,000 on permit fees from pilots shot in LA. [Variety]
