Measure J, the proposed extension of 2008's Measure R transit/freeway tax, is creeping up in the ballot count nearly two weeks after the election and a presumed failure. With 350,000 ballots left to be counted (!), Measure J--which could jumpstart openings for projects like the Purple Line subway extension--is now at 65.06 percent approval, but needs 66.67 percent to pass. It'll need 78 percent of remaining ballots to go its way. [The Source]
