As of yesterday, you can officially walk all the way around the Silver Lake and Ivanhoe Reservoirs on a path. A path! Silver Lake gets all the good stuff. The opening of the 500 foot long Tesla Avenue section of the sidewalk (which has actually been in use for a few weeks now) "marks the completion of a years long effort to build a walking path around the Silver Lake and Ivanhoe reservoirs," reports Eastsider LA. Most of the path was finished in 2008. Besides being way safer than the previous "walk into the narrow road" option, the new section of path adds a new retaining wall, fence, and benches; it also crosses through an olive grove. Delightful.
