Bringing sexy back this week we've got the John Lautner-designed Carling House in the Cahuenga Pass. Built in 1948 for composer Foster Carling, whose catalog includes such gems as "Clink Clink Another Drink" (video) and "The Man With the Big Sombrero" (video), the hexagonal-roofed residence boasts a pool that flows between the living room and exterior spaces, separated by a telescoping glass wall system. Other distinctive features include a mechanical wall that swivels to open the interior onto the patio, old-growth redwood planking, a raised fireplace, polished concrete floors, built-in furniture, and sweeping views. The two-bedroom, two-bath house has popped up a couple of times in the last few years as a $10k/month rental; it's now listed for sale at $2.995 million.
