ATWATER VILLAGE: First proposed in '99, the Elysian Valley Bike Path is finally opening officially tomorrow (cyclists and walkers have been using the bikeway for months). The LA River-adjacent EVBP is actually a 2.7 mile extension of the Glendale Narrows bikeway that stretches from Valley to close to Dodgers Stadium. The opening starts at 10 a.m. tomorrow, with a dedication ceremony at noon at Crystal Street and Fletcher Drive, according to lacreekfreak. [Curbed InBox] Photo by walterrrr via flickr
WESTCHESTER: A meeting takes place Tuesday at the Westchester Senior Center at 6 p.m. regarding the proposed runway expansion at LAX. Councilman Bill Rosendahl hosts the meeting; a memo from him on the project: "Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has proposed to move the LAX North Runways as much as 400 feet further to the north in order to increase the separation between the two north runways and build a centerline taxiway. LAWA has indicated that the purpose of the move is to enhance airfield safety and efficiency, and accommodate the new large aircraft such as the Airbus A380." Design alternatives will be presented and we'd assume cookies and coffee, but that's not specified. [Curbed InBox]
