Portrait of Hope, the group that beflowered New York's cabs, is now working on decorating a symbol of Los Angeles: the 155 lifeguard towers that line the coast. They'll work with schools, hospitals, and other volunteers to paint canvasses that will go up on the towers this May through October. A coordinator for Portrait of Hope says the project, called Summer of Color, "is the biggest public art project in the country right now." [LAist, image via]
