Americana at Brand: The Final Push

Megamall/mega condo development Americana at Brand, which celebrated its opening today, had one snag when developer Rick Caruoso's old timey ice cream truck couldn't get going. Those are Caruso Affiliated employees trying to move the truck. But otherwise, a pretty flawless launch. Some takeways: Sleepy neighbor Atwater Village, prepare thyself for traffic and development. Despite the high condominium prices, the sales office was packed. Also, that private party last night? The one Caruso Affiliated threw on the roof of the parking lot to celebrate Americana at Brand's opening? Jay Leno hosted. Singer Tony Bennett performed. All of this in Glendale, people, Glendale.
