Billboards On Yards: Watch the Pole!
Tuesday, May 6, 2008, by Dakota

Last week's post about how locals in Echo Park were upset about billboards on lawns may have made some wonder: How does a company put a billboard on a private yard, or are these somehow public spaces? If the child of a homeowner accidentally rams into the pole and gets a concussion, who is liable? And how much, uhm, does Vista Media pay out? In case someone wants one of those terrifying half-human, half-pig billboards that are all the rage. So many questions. Pictured: Three properties with billboards within about a 15-block radius in Echo Park. One is a multi-unit housing structure, and the other two look to be private homes.
