Rumblings & Bumblings: Hollywood Theater/Homeless Shelter, Burbank Collection, Rampart Construction
Tuesday, April 29, 2008, by Dakota
Once again, three tidy questions have been submitted for this week's Rumblings & Bumblings. If you have an answer, you may leave a comment or you can email us at la@curbed.com. Answers shall be posted this Thursday.
HOLLYWOOD: A question from a reader, who also sent in the above photo. "What's the state of this theater in Hollywood, Curbed? And fyi, that's a row of about 12-15 people sleeping under the awning. I took the photo at 8 am last Friday morning."
BURBANK: An reader from Burbank feels upset and passed over. He writes: "Why doesn't this site cover the construction of the "BURBANK COLLECTION"??? I know it is 100x smaller and less exciting but I wanna know what is going on 'cause construction seems to have stopped or something I don't think the MAY 2008 opening will happen... Any updates???"
PICO-UNION: Total sidenote, but does this area fall into into one of the 12 worst gang neighborhoods in Los Angeles? A reader writes: "What's going on at 7th and Rampart? There is some construction on one of 2 empty lots. That area could use some luxury condos taking advantage of the nearby park and metro station."
