$10,000 Reward Coming in Corral Blaze; Investigators Look For Marshmallow Clues
Thursday, December 6, 2007, by Dakota
This is like "CSI"+I Know What You Did Last Summer: As Malibu prepares to offer a $10,000 reward for info on the Corral fire--a blaze which destroyed 4,900 acres and 53 homes--there are rumors that young partygoers purchased firewood, marshmallows and party supplies at Ralphs Supermarket in Malibu Colony right before the fire started. Via Surfside News: "The rumors have been embellished with unsubstantiated reports that lit marshmallows were used as projectiles based on where the burnt confections were found." Investigators are combing through receipts and video surveillance. Lordy, if those kids did do it, they must be feeling pa-ran-oid. There's also an update on El Dorado County firefighter Scott Herzog, who was badly burned in the fire.
