More renderings of the Pugh + Scarpa-designed Cherokee Lofts at 751 N. Fairfax in Hollywood. Slated for completion in 2009, the building will consist of 12 residential condominium lofts (ranging from 1,000-2,000 square feet) and 2,800 square feet of commercial space. And yes, thoughtful developers REthink will pay homage to the site’s former occupant, the Cherokee Recording Studios (David Bowie, David Mathews, among others, recorded there) in various ways, including re-using the original wood paneling in the development (cute and thrifty!); also, two of the residential units will feature a dedicated space for in-home recording. Good luck, would-be Bowies. Check out her SIDE after jump.
