101 House Now for Rent
Friday, September 21, 2007, by jwilliams
Day 6 of the ongoing terror on the 101. The house has some fresh overnight tagging, including a well placed "For Rent" sign. Yesterday, the Associated Press provided a little more background on the home, including its fate as discussed by a CalTrans spokesperson.
"It's in bad shape. There is no hard-and-fast rule about how long a house can sit on the side of the freeway," Caltrans spokeswoman Maria Raptis said. "It will stay there until it can be moved safely."
WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!
- New Exterior Paint!
- Solid foundation!
- Bright, airy windows!
- Non-stop fresh breeze!
- Retaining wall with artist murals!
- Potential fixer!
- Lots of space to park multiple cars!
- Great city views!
- Close to LA transportation!
Way to look out for public safety, Caltrans! "Until it can be moved safely"? "No hard-and-fast rule..." Are you freaking kidding me? You'd tow my car in two seconds if it were left there. Why not just state the obvious and say "Until it sprouts legs and walks off" or "Until someone is killed plowing into it". Pull your heads out of your asses, tow it and file charges against the moron who left it there.
Isn't this the sasme Caltrans that did not remove overgrown vegatation that was such a threat during fire seasons. When is someone going to go after those clowns?
