Warner Center appears to be continuing its intriguing evolution into a humming, mostly-transit-accessible live-work community (with a lot of shopping options).
On Thursday, as Urbanize LA reports, developer Evolution Strategic Partners filed plans with the city for a new seven-story residential project with 271 apartments above a parking structure. Four of the units will be set aside as live-work spaces.
The project is planned for the site of a former manufacturing facility located at 6606 N Variel Ave—directly across the street from another large apartment complex, constructed in 2006.
According to the ESP website, the building’s amenities will include a pool, spa, fitness center, outdoor kitchen, and community barbecue area.
Meanwhile, Warner Center continues its rapid expansion as Metro plans upgrades to the Orange Line—including a possible conversion of the bus line to rail.
Less than two miles away from ESP’s project, shopping mall developer Westfield has announced plans for a 34-acre mixed use community. The project would bring 1,400 new units of housing to the area. Just a block from that development, Adler Realty Investments is planning a nine-building complex with 1,000 residential units and 222 hotel rooms.
